NEPEG CAMEROON

I- Young Peace Builders Initiative

This is an initiative of NEPEG which was launched in September 2022. It comprises of training and empowering youths, in a bid to form them into agents of positive peer transformation, dedicated to the cause of Peace Building in Cameroon.

These youths actively contribute in the localization of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 on Peace Justice and Strong Institutions, and also forge ahead the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security.

These youths work in close collaboration with the NEPEG team and benefit of support (technical, material and financial) from NEPEG in order to carry out innovative activities in their various communities.


OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this initiative is to have a platform which will galvanize and engage the youths of Cameroon in Peace building efforts

Specifically, this initiative aims at:

  1. Contributing to the efforts to restore peace in Cameroon via the actions of youths- Enhancing the peace-building knowledge and skills of young people.
  2. Supporting youths who are positively contributing to their communities.
  3. Forging youths into agents of positive peer transformation for peace building.
  4. Enabling the active localization of the UNSCRs 2250 on YPS as well as the SDG 16+ on
  5. Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

II- HER SPACE

Gender Based Violence (GBV) is a pervasive issue affecting millions of women worldwide, resulting in physical, emotional, and psychological harm. Survivors often face stigma, isolation, and limited access to resources. “Her Space” aims to address this gap by providing a comprehensive program that addresses the unique needs of women survivors.

The objective of “HER SPACE “ is to create a safe and supportive space for women and girls who have or are experiencing Gender-Based Violence (GBV), empowering them to heal, rebuild, and thrive.

Target Group:
This initiative targets girls and Women aged 15-50 who have or are experiencing GBV, including intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and other forms of harmful practices.
